Connor Bedard is currently injured, but last night he spoke with NHL on TNT about his season, being snubbed from Team Canada for the Olympics—and he even threw a sharp chirp at Paul Bissonnette that had the studio cracking up.
Still only 20 years old, Bedard is already in his third NHL season. Prior to his injury, he had recorded 44 points in 31 games and was on pace for a 99-point campaign. Despite his strong play, Bedard was left off Team Canada’s roster for the 2026 Olympics, a decision that many analysts have questioned.

Connor Bedard on Team Canada
During his appearance on NHL on TNT, Bedard discussed both his season and being omitted from the Olympic roster. He revealed that Team Canada did reach out to him and told him to stay ready just in case.
“They were kind enough to give me a call,” Bedard said. “It’s such a great team. I don’t want to talk about someone getting hurt—that’s the last thing I want—but they let me know, just in case, to be ready.”
Chirped Paul Bissonnette
Bedard also managed to slip in a sharp chirp at Paul Bissonnette, who was not in the studio for the broadcast. When asked whether it was easier to speak knowing Bissonnette wasn’t there, Bedard delivered a perfect response.
“That definitely helped, man,” he said. “I’d rather be talking to Wayne than Biz—there’s a little more talent on the broadcast. It adds a bit of excitement for me.”
