Rick Tocchet and Paul Bissonnette know each other quite well from their work together on NHL on TNT. Both being former players, they occasionally let their emotions get the best of them. Like one late night in a hotel with Wayne Gretzky.
Drafted in the sixth round of the 1983 NHL Draft, Rick Tocchet enjoyed an outstanding 18-season career. In 1992, he won a Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Worked for NHL on TNT
Since hanging up his skates in 2002, Tocchet has become one of the most respected coaches in the league. He is currently behind the bench for the Philadelphia Flyers.
In addition to coaching, Tocchet has also worked as an analyst for NHL on TNT, alongside hockey legends such as Wayne Gretzky, Henrik Lundqvist — and, of course, Paul Bissonnette.

Rick Tocchet on Spittin’ Chichlets
Although Bissonnette didn’t have a career as decorated as Tocchet’s — scoring seven goals in 202 NHL games — he has made quite a name for himself off the ice. As co-host of the popular Spittin’ Chiclets podcast and a member of the NHL on TNT broadcast team, “BizNasty” has become one of hockey’s most recognizable personalities.
When Tocchet appeared as a guest on Spittin’ Chiclets, he was asked to share his best Bissonnette story. He recalled a night when the two got into a fight over how to play 2-on-2 hockey — in a hotel, no less.
”Couple of drinks”
“I still remember, we were arguing and couldn’t let it go. I think we were having a couple of drinks in Gretzky’s room. So, we’re leaving, and we’re in the hallway yelling at each other,” Tocchet remembered.
Bissonnette chimed in with his side of the story.
“One lady opened her door to peek out — she thought it was going to be a fistfight in the hallway because we were still arguing,” Bissonnette said.

Tocchet laughed as he continued the story.
“I’m supposed to be a mature guy, and I’m screaming at Biz in the hallway, explaining to him: ‘This is your man, and this is my man!’ We were yelling at each other — it was actually pretty funny,” Tocchet said on the podcast.
