Tyler Pitlick goes all in on big hit at the boards, nails the ref with crowd cheering

Last summer Tyler Pitlick was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers from Dallas in exchange for Wayne Simmonds. It’s turned out to be a great one for Philly.

The winger has settled in nicely with his gritty style of playing, and at the same time putting up 20 points in 61 games.

Many players have felt the heavy hits of Pitlick throughout the years. But last night someone wearing black and white on the ice got the experience as well.

In the third period against the Canes, Pitlick prepared a hit on Haydn Fleury.

But instead of hitting the Flyers’ defenseman, Pitlick went into the boards hitting the referee who fell to the ground.

Sure, we’ve seen players do this before. But at the same time we just can’t get enough of funny moments like this, especially since no one got injured.
