It’s not a question about if Mark Giordano will leave the Seattle Kraken. It’s rather about which team he’s joining.
Trade rumors have been over Giordano for a while, with the Seattle Kraken captain now being held out of the lineup in anticipation of a possible trade.
Mark Giordano, now 38, may be a veteran but can still put up more than 20 minutes a game and will be a great addition to the team that gets their hands on him. Giordano also has a no-move clause in his contract, so he will have a say in where he goes. So, which teams are in the mix?
The New York Rangers have shown interest in Giordano since the offseason, and according to Ryan Leslie, they’re still one of three teams in the mix for a trade. Leslie says the three teams in pole position are the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, and The Carolina Hurricanes. All three mentioned teams are going for the Cup this year and would surely benefit from a veteran like Giordano on the blueline.
As of now, most of the reports suggest that Giordano’s destination of choice would be the Maple Leafs, and as the team currently has some injuries on their D-Men’s, it’s a possible match.
