Sergei Bobrovsky is widely considered one of the best goaltenders in the world. But last night, he severely misjudged a puck, and fans haven’t held back in reacting to the blunder.
The Florida Panthers have struggled all season, and on Monday, they suffered their fourth straight loss, falling 5-3 to the Buffalo Sabres. The defeat leaves them nine points out of a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Sergei Bobrovsky huge mistake
The back-to-back champions have been plagued by injuries to key players and have struggled to find their rhythm. During last night’s game, they also made costly mistakes, the biggest coming from two-time Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky. Early in the second period, with the score tied 2-2, Bobrovsky misjudged a puck and skated out of his crease to play it. Sabres forward Ryan Mcleod beat him to the puck and set up Zach Benson, who scored into an empty net.
Fans can’t stop laughing
Now, fans are mocking Bobrovsky and the Panthers.
“Bob saw the Hasek documentary and got ideas,” one fan wrote on X.
“First Bobby gets into a fight, now he’s playing pucks past the blue line. I think he just wants to be a skater—which is fine, but let’s put another goalie in first,” wrote another.
“This is how I know he started as a Flyer,” a third fan commented.
