It doesn’t happen every day, but when a goalie fight breaks out, everybody loves it. And last night, it did. Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky skated the length of the ice to drop the gloves with Alex Nedeljkovic — and fans couldn’t get enough.
Matthew Tkachuk made his season debut last night as his Panthers came up short against the San Jose Sharks, falling 4–1. The Panthers currently sit outside of a playoff spot, while the Sharks now hold a position in the Pacific Division.

Huge brawl
However, the game’s result wasn’t the main talking point afterward. Nor was Tkachuk’s return. Instead, all eyes were on the brawl that erupted in the third period — one that escalated into a full-blown goalie fight.
It all started with a big hit by Evan Rodrigues on Vincent Desharnais. Sharks players took exception and went after Rodrigues, including goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. That was something Sergei Bobrovsky wasn’t about to let slide.

Bobrovsky skated at full speed across the ice, dropped the gloves, and nodded toward Nedeljkovic, who answered the bell. The two ripped off each other’s helmets and exchanged heavy punches before tumbling to the ice — and the crowd loved every second of it. Skaters on the ice tapped their sticks in approval, while players on the Sharks’ bench were visibly fired up by the fight.

Now, fans are praising the goaltenders online.
“Goalie fights are the best — love it!” one fan wrote on X.
