Evgeni Malkin on goal streak

On Sunday, the Penguins scored three unanswered goals in a span of twelve minutes against the Vancouver Canucks, securing a 3–2 victory.
Evgeni Malkin opened the scoring with his 13th goal of the season and his third in three games. Despite having played just 36 games this season, Malkin ranks second on the team in points with 40. However, after the game, many fans grew concerned about his status after some scary footage emerged.

Scary footage

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Malkin is seen going down to the floor after his shoulder was bumped. Malkin has already missed 15 games this season due to a shoulder injury, and fans immediately began fearing the worst—that he could miss even more time.

Malkin injury update

“Saw this in real time when the camera cut back to the bench and showed him hunched over. Hoped I was crazy because the broadcast didn’t say anything, but it didn’t look great,” one fan wrote on X.
“Severely concerned about Evgeni Malkin getting injured at the end of that hockey game,” another wrote.
“He looked like he was writhing in pain. Not good. Let’s see if he’s in Thursday against the Blackhawks,” a third fan added.
Later on Sunday, Penguins head coach Dan Muse helped calm concerns. Speaking to reporters, Muse said that Malkin is fine.
