Paul Bissonnette is a Maple Leafs fan
Bissonnette’s humor and shenanigans really resonate with fans, and for the longest time he has claimed to be a true Maple Leafs supporter. The Ontario native often shows up wearing Maple Leafs gear. And Sunday night was no exception—he arrived in the NHL on TNT studio wearing a Maple Leafs tie and blazer.
But he surprised fans during the broadcast when he officially jumped off the Maple Leafs bandwagon, taking off his Maple Leafs blazer for the remainder of the season. The blazer was then raised to the ceiling in the studio.
”It’s been a tough year”
“It’s been a tough year. A year that we want to flush down the toilet. I think it’s time I take a step back and re-evaluate my position as a Maple Leafs ambassador. So I’m going to take this off for the time being,” Bissonnette said on the broadcast.
The rest of the studio then offered Bissonnette the chance to jump on another team’s bandwagon, but he said he didn’t want to rush anything.
“We’ve got about 14 or 15 games left in the season. I’m going to weigh my options. There are a lot of amazing teams I’d love to hop on the wagon with. My decision won’t be easy, but it will come before the playoffs,” Bissonnette said.
