P.K. Subban absolutely roasted by fans for bold and unexpected take on Connor Bedard

As we’re now just days from a brand new NHL season, everyone seems to have an opinion about Connor Bedard. The young prospect is the most hyped-up first-overall pick in the NHL in many years, and it’s not for nothing.

Bedard had a record-breaking season in the WHL last year, and he was a superstar for Team Canada in the WJC. Bedard was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks, and the organization and city couldn’t been happier.

Chicago Blackhawks ticket sales have rushed through the roof since they won the lottery, and although many predict the Blackhawks will miss the playoffs this year, everyone’s excited about how Bedard adapts to the big league.

But Bedard’s pre-season display hasn’t been perfect. He’s only scored one goal—an empty-netter against the Red Wings—and many believe the expectations on the young prospects are set too high and unreasonable.

But some think he’s ready to make an immigrant impact, and not only that. Some experts and former players already think he’s one of the best in the league. When TSN placed Bedard 48th in their annual top 50 players in the NHL, it drew ire from fans, thinking they put him way too high, especially since he hasn’t actually played a single game in the league yet.

But former NHLer P.K. Subban thinks even higher of Bedard, and his bold take now has fans talking. According to Subban, Bedard is already one of the best players in the league, and he seems absolutely sure that the 18-year-old will be a superstar in the big league.

”1. If you think this kid isn’t going to be a superstar you are nuts!” He said on his Instagram.

”2. If you think he’s overhyped…get checked!” He continues.
To finish his bold take, Subban said:

”3. If you don’t think he is already in the top 10 players in the league right now in terms of skill…You don’t get a seat at my table! Period.
I don’t want to hear it!!!!”

Fans didn’t precisely universally approve of Subban’s statement, as many snapped back at him.

”I’ll believe it when he scores not empty net goals,” one responded on his Instagram.
