Nick Tarnasky’s golf fight opponent makes statement

Last week, former NHL enforcer Nick Tarnasky went viral after fighting a drunk man on a golf course. No charges were filed afterward, and Tarnasky has received a lot of praise for how he handled the incident. The man, identified as Trevor Ogilvie, has now issued a statement following the tee-box brawl.

Nick Tarnasky was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2003. He made his NHL debut in 2006, playing 245 games in the league and also representing the Nashville Predators and the Florida Panthers. During his five seasons, he recorded 30 points and 297 penalty minutes.

The video, which went viral last week, shows Tarnasky arguing with a group of other golfers who were taking too long to tee off. The confrontation ends with Tarnasky beating the man and throwing him into a nearby pond after the man charged at him. Local police were called, but Tarnasky was not charged with any crime.
Hockey fans have praised how Tarnasky handled the situation, commending him for teaching the intoxicated man a lesson. That man, Trevor Ogilvie, has now come forward to explain himself.

Trevor Ogilvie offers apology

“Yep, that’s me, guys. The guy that got dropped like a bucket of balls in a pond. Not my finest moment, I know. Looks real bad. We played 36 holes of golf, we drank way too much, and my mouth went faster than my brain.
All jokes aside, guys, I’d like to apologize to everyone on the course, anyone caught up in it, and anyone who had to deal with me that day. I lost my cool, and I’ve learned from it. Stay hydrated, keep your stick on the ice, and maybe stick to 18,” Ogilvie said in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Ogilvie has received a lot of respect for his statement following the Nick Tarnasky fight.
“That’s the way to apologize. Just own it. Wish more would do it this way. Kudos to him,” one person wrote.
“Humility is the sign of a real man. Great job, dude!” another added.
“Solid apology. That’s how it goes sometimes! Good on him,” a third person commented.
