Dustin Byfuglien Destroys Joel Eriksson EK With a Huge Hit!

There’s a certain pep in your step players feel once the playoffs begin. It’s the same old game of hockey, but the roar of the crowd combined with the energy and atmosphere make these games a doozy to play in.

The extra jump means the game will be faster paced and the hits even bigger – and Dustin Byfuglien proved that last night.

Byfuglien is known for being the big, bad defenceman on the Jets’ blueline, but that doesn’t mean he can’t remind the opponent of his capabilities. Unfortunately for one Minnesota Wild forward, he caught all of Byfuglien’s 260 lbs.

Caught with his head down in the Jets’ end, Joel Eriksson EK was absolutely smashed by Byfuglien. The hit sent Eriksson EK to the ice and I’m sure every bone in his body felt the hit.

Byfuglien usually has the weight advantage on his opponent. Combined with his speed and ability to read the play, Byfuglien is a dangerous-defenceman.
