Drew Doughty suddenly turn over to Clayton Keller during face-off, wholesomely invites him to play golf

When players in the NHL are mic’d up, it often leads to exciting and entertaining clips on social media. Often, it’s about chirping between players, and it’s unusual that players are kind to each other.

But when the LA Kings faced Arizona Coyotes, Drew Doughty was mic’d up, and cameras caught one of the most wholesome moments of the year.

Before a face-off, Doughty turned to Coyotes player Clayton Keller and suddenly invited him for a game of golf.

Doughty started the conversation by asking Keller what his handicap was, with the Coyotes forward answering “scratch.”

A scratch handicap in golf is impressive, and Doughty quickly replied that he had just a seven.

“Let’s play,” Drew Doughty replied, before skating off and returning to play.

Clayton Keller scored one goal in the game, but the Kings won, 3-2.
