Tuukka Rask was a guest on the NHL on TNT broadcast on Tuesday. While talking to his former teammate David Pastrnak, Pastrnak couldn’t help but throw a little chirp at his old goaltender.
David Pastrnak and Tuukka Rask were teammates for eight seasons with the Boston Bruins and developed a close friendship. During their time in Boston, they were captained by the legendary Zdeno Chara.

Celebrated Zdeno Chara
Last week, Chara had his jersey number, 33, retired by the Bruins. He became the 13th player in franchise history—and among the Original Six teams—to receive that honor. The ceremony was attended by many of Chara’s former teammates, including Tuukka Rask and David Pastrnak.
On Tuesday night, Rask and Pastrnak met for the first time since the celebration—and they did so on live television. Rask was appearing in the studio on the NHL on TNT broadcast for the game between the Bruins and the Dallas Stars, a matchup the Stars won 6–2.
David Pastrnak chirped Tuukka Rask
When Pastrnak found out Rask was in the studio, he couldn’t resist taking a playful jab.
“How are you feeling? You good? You recovered from last week?” Pastrnak asked with a smile.
Rask then explained what the celebration was like.
“Barely,” Rask said. “We had a blast at Zdeno Chara’s jersey retirement night. Pasta was there—we had a couple of beverages.”
Pastrnak quickly fired back with another joke.
“Yeah, they did,” he said, laughing.
