Ed Belfour arrested after an incident in Bowling Green

Former NHL goaltender Ed Belfour has been arrested after an incident in Bowling Green, NBC/CBS affiliate WNKY reports.

Belfour is said to have been arrested on public intoxication and criminal mischief charges.

The incident occured at a hotel according to an arrest citation, WNKY reports. Police found him laying on the floor clutching a curtain rod which had been ripped out of the drywall.

An employee tells the news outlet that Belfour attempted to fight a manager in the bar, and also hitting a glass window.

Police says he had slow, slurred speech bloodshot eyes and could barely stand up.

Ed Belfour played for teams such as the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs and the San Jose Sharks before ending his career in 2008.

The 52 year old won the Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars in 1999 and was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011.
