Brent Bruns hit on Kaprizov
The series is, as a playoff series should be, very hard-fought and physical. Few players in the league know how to play that game better than Brent Burns. The 41-year-old veteran has played in over a hundred playoff games in his career and knows what playoff hockey demands. But now, fans are saying he went too far on Tuesday against Wild superstar Kirill Kaprizov.
In a battle for the puck along the boards, Brent Burns tried to free the puck with his foot but instead hit Kaprizov right between the legs. Now, fans are saying Burns should have been more careful and that he should be suspended for his actions. If a player is called for kicking an opponent, it is an automatic game misconduct and match penalty.
Fans are outraged
Fans now want the league to take action and suspend Burns.
“I’m pretty sure kicking is very frowned upon. Does an Ironman streak continue if you’re suspended?” one fan wrote on X.
“That’s a match penalty, no excuse for not calling that,” another one wrote.
“That’s gotta be a suspension, I don’t care if he’s trying to kick the puck,” a third one wrote.
”The Colorado Avalanche have too much talent to play like a bunch of dirty punks!” a fourth one wrote
