Pierre-Edouard Bellemare’s words about Macklin Celebrini

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare played in the NHL for ten seasons but left the league after the 2023–24 season and now plays in Switzerland. After Team France’s game against Team Canada, Bellemare made a hilarious comment about Macklin Celebrini.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare began his career in his native France before moving to Sweden, where he became a two-time champion with Skelleftea AIK.

Bellemare didn’t enter the NHL until he was 29 years old, when he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Bellemare also represented the Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Seattle Kraken. In total, he skated in 700 games, racking up 138 points. Since the 2024–25 season, Bellemare has played for HC Ajoie in Switzerland. He is still, at 40 years old, the captain of Team France, making him the oldest male hockey olympian of 2026.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare’s hilarious self-chirp

On Sunday, Team France fell short against Team Canada, losing 10–2. They will play Germany in a qualifying game for the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Bellemare, who didn’t record any points against Canada, was very impressed with the opposition—especially Macklin Celebrini, Team Canada’s 19-year-old wonder. Bellemare commented on Celebrini with a hilarious self-chirp:
“He looks absolutely amazing. I think he’s 19 or whatever it is. Goddamn. It’s good that I stopped playing in the NHL because if this is what it’s gonna look like, it’s better for me to not be in there anymore,” Bellemare told reporters.
