Sean Durzi and Declan Carlile got into a scuffle last night, with both players sent to the penalty box. While serving his penalty, Durzi was caught on camera directing some very not-safe-for-work language at Carlile. Now, Durzi is under fire from fans.
On Monday, the Tampa Bay Lightning ended the Utah Mammoth’s five-game winning streak. Tampa Bay secured a 2–0 victory, marking Andrei Vasilevskiy’s second shutout of the season and the 42nd of his NHL career.
“As a team, we’ve been playing great hockey lately. We played a great team tonight that was on a run, just like us. It was a very close game and our big players stepped up. A good team win,” Vasilevskiy told NHL.com after the game.

Dropped several f-bombs
However, the main talking point after the final buzzer was not the result. Instead, much of the attention centered on Mammoth defenseman Sean Durzi. Following a brief scrum with Lightning forward Declan Carlile, both players were sent to the penalty box. While there, Durzi was caught on camera unloading a string of profanities at Carlile.
“Fck you, fck you, you fcking pssy,” Durzi is seen yelling.
“Apparently, he called him a name that’s not on the back of his jersey,” the announcers joked during the broadcast.
Calling out Sean Durzi
In the aftermath, fans have ironically begun calling for Durzi to be fined. The reaction follows a recent incident involving William Nylander, who was fined $5,000 for giving the middle finger to a TV camera.
“Should be fined 5k for inappropriate behaviour for swearing,” one fan wrote on X.
“Fine him for excessive language, I’m offended,” another added.
“Player Safety going to get involved to protect our innocent eyes again,” a third fan joked.
