The Regina Pats are making their first WHL playoff appearance since 2018, and I think we all know the key to their recent success.

Connor Bedard has broken all kinds of records this season, and it’s not without good reasons he’s constantly being compared to superstar Connor McDavid. He’s the expected first-overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft, and he’s been completely dominating the WHL this season.

Bedard led the league in scoring with 71 goals and 72 assists for a total of 143 points. And in the playoffs, he’s shown no signs of slowing down.

Connor Bedard has played three games this playoff and already has six goals and 11 points to his name. The Regina Pats are trying to pull off a playoff upset against the Saskatoon Blades, who finished the regular season in third place in the WHL Eastern Conference. The Regina Pats entered the playoffs in 6th place, but they were up 2-0 in the first-round series heading into game 3.

And it was time for yet another Connor Bedard masterclass. Bedard had one goal and two assists, but it didn’t help the Pats to another victory. The visiting Blades came back from a 3-1 deficit midway through the third period and eventually won 4-3 in overtime.

But Connor Bedard still got all the headlines after the game, as he scored yet another breathtaking goal.
