Hot mic catches referee going off on players

Players and officials talk a lot to each other during games, but not everything gets picked up. It’s often players shouting at referees that make the headlines. But during Sunday’s game between Denmark and Sweden, one official was caught on mic losing it at one of the players.

The 2026 World Championship is underway in Switzerland. Meanwhile, on Sunday, Sweden defeated Denmark 6–2. However, even though Sweden won the game convincingly, there was still a bit of rivalry between the two neighboring countries.

Referee lost it

As a referee, it is your job to keep the players in line. Often, this can be achieved simply by talking to the players, explaining the situation, and calming everyone down. However, every now and then, even the officials lose their temper. And, in fact, that’s exactly what happened on Sunday.

”Don’t even!”

Twelve minutes into the second period, Denmark forward Joachim Blichfeld was given a two-minute penalty for hooking Carl Grundstrom. When the referee saw Blichfeld turn around toward him, he shut him down immediately.
“Don’t even! I’m not listening to it! Get outta here, go to the box!” he was heard shouting.
Next up, Sweden will play Czechia, and Denmark will face Canada.
