Olympics

Olympic ice hockey has been on the Winter Games programme since 1924, with a women’s tournament added in 1998. NHL players took part from 1998 to 2014, skipped 2018 and 2022, and returned for Milano Cortina in 2026. Canada has won nine men’s Olympic gold medals, more than any other nation, but the United States won both the men’s and women’s tournaments in 2026.
