Mark Messier is a Canadian centre who won six Stanley Cups and is the only player to captain two different franchises to the title, Edmonton in 1990 and the New York Rangers in 1994. Messier finished with 1,887 points, second only to Wayne Gretzky at the time he retired. Both Edmonton and the Rangers retired his No. 11, and the NHL’s leadership award carries his name.
