Jordan Staal’s historic feat

Meanwhile, Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal scored again in the 4–2 victory. More importantly, his goal made history, as he became the first player since Yvan Cournoyer in 1973 to score in each of the first five games of a Stanley Cup Final.
“Doing it at his age just says a lot about him. He’s our guy and he’s our warrior, and I’m really happy for him,” Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour told reporters after the game.

John Tortorella press conference

Meanwhile, John Tortorella spoke to reporters after the loss and made a bold promise: Vegas would win Game 6.
“We’re just gonna get ready for our next game. We’ll be back here. We’re just gonna do it in a different order. We gotta find a way. I’m gonna leave my clothes here, that’s for sure. They’ll be in the hotel,” Tortorella said at the press conference.

Fans online are not buying it and say Tortorella may have to eat his words.
“Nice of him to donate a fancy suit to housekeeping,” one fan wrote on X.
“His clothes will be available at a thrift store next week,” another fan wrote.
“What day does Vegas play in Raleigh next season?” a third fan jokingly asked.

Game 6 will be played on Sunday in Vegas.
