Jim Montgomery goes viral after losing his mind thinking Florida player dived; his reaction on the bench was absolutely hilarious

The Boston Bruins had their season on the line Tuesday, with the Florida Panthers up in a 3-1 series lead in the second round of the playoffs.

And how we would love it if this series would just go on forever. Game 5 was not short of thrilling moments, with the two coaches at the center of attention during and after the game.

Midway through the second period, Boston defenseman Mason Lohrei was handed a two-minute minor penalty for hooking Eetu Luostarinen.

But looking at the replay of the incident, it sure looked like the Panthers player went down easily.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery certainly thought so, and he was absolutely furious with the call. He even became animated on the bench while discussing the matter with the referees.

Montgomery asked the referees to add embellishment on Luostarinen for the apparent diving, and he made diving gestures on the bench, which got picked up by cameras.

After the diving gestures, he hilariously did a backward jump.

The Panthers had already received one embellishment in the first period after Morgan Geekie was handed a two-minute minor penalty for cross-checking Anton Lundell.

Lundell was also sent to the penalty box and the two teams skated four-on-four, but in the second period, to Jim Montgomery’s disappointment, Eetu Luostarinen got away without one.

Jim Montgomery also had a hilarious reaction to a penalty called on the Bruins in the third period, but it didn’t come close to his hilarious diving accusations in the middle frame.

The video of Montgomery’s gestures quickly went viral, with everyone finding it incredibly funny.

”This clip will get some reuse,” one user said.

”This is gonna be memed to death,” another said.

”This will have a long life,” a third added.
