Insider: Jaromir Jagr might be leaving the Flames in November

After following Jaromir Jagr’s contract talks over the summer and into the preseason, it was like a terrific television season finale once Jagr signed with Calgary Flames. The anticipation of his signing became a Jaromir Jagr reality show. The audience was left with suspense as to what would happen when Jagr joined a new franchise. But, we’re learning from TSN’s Shawn Simpson that Jagr may be on his way out of the NHL.

It’s definitely a turn of events, as hockey fans eagerly waited to see where Jagr would land to play this season. Social Media was buzzing with every day with Jagr news, but it looks like it may be short-lived. If the rumor is indeed true, it’ll be soul-crushing for many fans who grew up watching the veteran play.
“Give Jagr 10 games,” said Simpson. “If he’s not feeling it. I think he steps away.”

Jagr has made it clear himself that his time is soon running out, but if he does indeed leave after 10 games it’ll be a shock to the hockey world.

After being a minus-one in his own season opener, one could question that maybe Jagr doesn’t feel he can keep up with the speed of the game. When asked about his expectations from the Calgary Herald, Jagr responded: “Always the highest (expectations). It might be different, but I always want to perform at a high level. But it’s not about me. It’s about the team and my teammates. I don’t want to be there just to be there. I want to make them better.”

If Jagr leaves after the 10 games, it’ll be interesting to see if he professional retires from the game or tries to play overseas.
