Ducks donating merch sales to hospital in Jay Bouwmeester’s honor

Last night, the Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues resumed the game that was postponed due to the medical emergency involving Jay Bouwmeester earlier in February.

The Blues’ defenseman collapsed at the bench and medical personnel responded quickly at the bench, treating Bouwmeester before taken to the hospital. Bouwmeester suffered a cardiac episode.

The Blues went on to win the game 4-2 to complete the game. However, during the special night, the Ducks made sure to shine a light on more important things than hockey.

Before the game, the Ducks and Blues staff were recognized and awarded the CATA Lifesaver Award for their action during the Bouwmeester medical emergency.

But the Anaheim Ducks wanted to do more than just celebrating the responders quick act to help the Blues defenseman.

Via social media, the organisation announced that they will donate 19 percent (#19 Jay Bouwmeester) of al merchandise sales to the UCI Medical Center which is part of the UC Irvine Health Sciences system in honor of Bouwmeester.

Also, they donate the entire portion of their 50/50 raffle to the hospital.

Classy gesture!
