Brendan Perlini takes skate straight to his face and suffers brutal gash

Late in the first period against the Buffalo Sabres, Red Wings’ Brendan Perlini got a deep laceration after being hit by Henri Jokiharju’s skate straight in the face.

The forward dropped to the ice, leaving the ice bloodied and didn’t return to the game.

It could’ve been a way more serious injury for Perlini, suffering a big laceration in the face following the incident last night against the Sabres.

Henrik Jokiharju’s skate “only” hit him in the face, with Perlini dropping to the ice and getting quick medical attention before leaving the ice with a towel covering his face.

The Detroit Red Wings gave an update on Perlini mid-game, saying he suffered a deep laceration to his nose. He received stitches and didn’t return to the game.

After the game, Perlini literally showed his face to the media.
