David Pastrnak fighting back tears talking about the death of newborn son, says ”it’s been a tough year”

The season is over for the Boston Bruins, and star forward David Pastrnak. And during the final interviews of the 2021-22, ”Pasta” admitted that it’s been a tough season. Last June, he and girlfriend Rebecca Rohlsson lost their newborn son, Viggo.

Viggo was just six days old as he died, and it’s been a tough process for Pastrnak to keep focus on the game.
As he talked to reporters during the final interview, he fought back tears.

“It’s been a tough year overall for me,” Pastrnak said.

“So I want to turn the page pretty much as quick as I can. Obviously, we’re in a much better place than we were months ago. So, yeah, it was tough. Glad it’s over and feeling better now.”

Pastrnak says that it’s been tough, and he can’t even describe what it’s been like for him and Rebecca.

“It’s just time, you know, a lot of time together. I can’t even talk about it. It’s just time, you know. Time and love. Very tough,” Pastrnak said. “And I wouldn’t wish that on anybody in their lives. So hopefully there’s better things ahead of us.”
