Jonathan Marchessault breaks silence on crazy social media fight with fans

Tuesday, The Vancouver Canucks tied the series against Vegas Golden Knights. Following the game, Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault took to his official Instagram page, getting into a fight with hockey fans.

Screenshots that was shared on social media showed Marchessault getting into arguments with fans chirping him, accusing him of diving.

Marchessault told them to leave him alone, adding a couple of non friendly words. The comments were later deleted, with the Golden Knights organization still to comment on the event.

Last night, Marchessault decided to adress the incident.

“I just wanted to comment about the remarks that I did on my social media yesterday. I just wanted to apologize, sincerely,” Marchessault said according to The Province. “I think it was childish, immature and not professional”.

Marchessault continued with apologizing for what he did, saying he regret the decision to get into an argument on his official Instagram page.

“I was frustrated from the game, obviously, but also I get sensitive when people comment on family pictures and things like that,” Marchessault said.

This isn’t the first time this post-season that the Golden Knights have gotten attention because of social media issues.

A couple of days ago, goaltender Marc Andre Fleury’s agent Allan Walsh posted a picture on social media of Fleury being stabbed in the back that had “DeBoer” engraved on it. It was a reference head coach Peter DeBoer for not letting the former Penguin play.
