San Jose Sharks’ response to Carey Price’s Hall of Fame induction

Carey Price is a Hall of Famer, it was announced on Monday. The former Montreal Canadiens goaltender was traded to the San Jose Sharks ahead of the 2025–26 season but never played a game for the club. When Price’s induction was announced, the Sharks congratulated him in the most hilarious way.
“Congratulations to the Sharks legend!” they wrote on social media.

Drafted fifth overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2005 NHL Draft, Carey Price became a modern Canadiens icon. His 712 games played and 361 wins are both franchise records among Canadiens goaltenders.

Carey Price Hall of Fame inductee

On November 9, Price will become the 62nd Montreal Canadiens player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. During the 2014–15 season, he won the Vezina Trophy, Hart Trophy, Jennings Trophy, and Ted Lindsay Award. Price will be inducted in his second year of eligibility.
Due to lingering knee injuries, Price did not play after the 2021–22 season, but his contract remained active through the end of the 2025–26 campaign.

San Jose Sharks’ hilarious response

Before the 2025–26 season, the final year of Price’s contract was traded to the San Jose Sharks. The Canadiens received defenseman Gannon Laroque in return. Despite never suiting up for the Sharks, Price apparently left quite an impression on the organization.
When the Hall of Fame announcement was made, the Sharks paid tribute to Price in a hilarious way.
“Congratulations to the Sharks legend!”

Carey Price will be inducted alongside Patrice Bergeron, Pekka Rinne, Keith Tkachuk, Cindy Curley, and Brian Burke as part of the Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
