Brady Tkachuk under fire for hit on Jordan Martinook

Brady Tkachuk and his Ottawa Senators lost Game 3 to the Carolina Hurricanes. During the game, Tkachuk hit Jordan Martinook from behind. Now, fans want to see Tkachuk suspended for the hit.

Brady Tkachuk and the Ottawa Senators are both in trouble. Losing Game 3 2–1 at home now puts the Carolina Hurricanes up 3–0 in the series.

Five powerplays

In their first home game of the playoffs, the Senators came up short. On five power-play opportunities, they were not able to score.
“Power play lost us the game. It was pretty frustrating, but we’ve got to find a way. Things don’t go your way, and we’ve never quit all season. Just got to step up to the occasion,” Senators captain Brady Tkachuk told reporters after the game. But he might also face bigger troubles.

Brady Tkachuk hit

In the third period, Brady Tkachuk hit Carolina’s Jordan Martinook with an elbow, far away from the puck. Martinook fell to the ice but was able to return to the bench on his own. Tkachuk received a two-minute penalty for the hit. However, fans online are now demanding that the NHL suspend Tkachuk, saying he intended to hurt Martinook.
“It’s a major because it’s deliberate and there’s a clear reason why he’s doing it. It’s dirty, and the fact they reviewed it and downgraded it is a disgrace to the entire idea of player safety,” one fan wrote on X.
“Dirty, overhyped, overrated player making a dirty play,” another wrote.
“With his reputation, it’s really not surprising,” a third chimed in.
Game four is played is played on Saturday afternoon.
