Brady Tkachuk mocked over ”coward” gesture

Brady Tkachuk didn’t have a strong performance in Game 2 against the Carolina Hurricanes. Now, the Ottawa Senators captain is being mocked online after appearing to fake a punch toward Hurricanes forward Jackson Blake.

Meanwhile, Carolina secured a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Ottawa on Monday. The game-winning goal didn’t come until the second overtime period, when Jordan Martinook found the back of the net.

Carolina Hurricanes overtime win

The Hurricanes now lead the series 2–0 as it shifts to Ottawa for Game 3. During the first overtime, Martinook had a chance to end the game on a penalty shot but was stopped by Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark. He later redeemed himself with the overtime winner.
“I didn’t feel very good about myself after that penalty shot, and that intermission felt really long,” Martinook told reporters after the game. “It would’ve been a long night if that miss came back to bite me.”

Brady Tkachuk mocked

Brady Tkachuk had a difficult outing. He finished minus-two, recorded just one hit, and was held without a point. He was also in the penalty box when Carolina scored its opening goal. Adding to the frustration, Tkachuk is now facing criticism online. During a scrum, he appeared to fake a punch toward Blake, who flinched. Some fans labeled the move unsportsmanlike, pointing to the size difference between the two players and questioning Tkachuk’s willingness to fight tougher opponents.

Fans reactions

“Fake tough guy,” one fan wrote on X.
“Targeting a guy he has 30 lbs on, typical. He gets one-punched by guys his own size,” another posted.
“He almost got knocked out by Jordan Staal, now he’s picking on a much smaller player,” a third added.
Game 3 will be played Thursday.
