The Dallas Stars tied their series against the Minnesota Wild with a 4-2 win. Now, Wild superstar defenseman Quinn Hughes is being called out by fans after what they described as an “effortless” play on the Stars’ empty-net 4-2 goal.

The series is now tied 1-1 as it heads to Minnesota for Game 3 on Wednesday.
“From our end, anyways, it was a playoff game. I thought they played two, we played one. It’s more of what we look like, more of the way we are, but you can still see how tight it is. You got good games from both teams, and it’s tight,” Stars coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters after the game.
Since being traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Minnesota Wild in December, Quinn Hughes has made an immediate impact. In 48 regular-season games with the Wild, he recorded 53 points. On Monday, Hughes added two assists.

However, much of the postgame discussion centered around his effort on the Stars’ empty-net 4-2 goal. Fans believe Hughes eased up on his skating, assuming the puck would go wide of the net.
He is now being labeled “lazy” by fans online.
“‘Quitt’ Hughes gave up on another thing in his life and cost his new team,” one fan wrote on X.
“Great effort from ‘one of the best defensemen in the league,’” another added.
“Quinn reliving his best Canucks times LOL,” a third wrote.
“Not a good look,” a fourth commented.
