Viggo Bjorck: Early Life

Viggo Bjorck was born on March 12, 2008, in Stockholm, Sweden, to Caroline and Jesper Bjorck. Notably, Jesper is a former hockey player who played for several teams in the Swedish Elitserien in the early 2000s. Additionally, Viggo has an older brother, Wilson Bjorck, who plays college hockey in Colorado and has been drafted by the Vancouver Canucks. Meanwhile, Viggo began his hockey career with IFK Taby, his hometown club.

Viggo Bjorck: Youth Career

Viggo Bjorck showed his talent at an early age. Playing with his U16 team, he recorded 45 points—18 goals and 27 assists—in 21 games during the 2022–2023 season. The following season, he moved up to U18 hockey, where he registered 98 points (33 goals and 65 assists) in just 36 games. Ahead of the 2024–2025 season, Viggo transferred to Djurgardens IF, where he competed in a U20 national league. There, he tallied 74 points—27 goals and 47 assists—in 42 games, setting a record for the series.

Senior career

On February 14, 2025, Viggo made his senior debut in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier of Swedish hockey. He scored a goal in the game, and at 16 years, 11 months, and two days old, he became one of the youngest goal scorers in HockeyAllsvenskan history. Djurgårdens IF was promoted to the SHL, Sweden’s top-tier league, for the 2025–2026 season. Viggo then became the first player born in 2008 to play in the SHL. On September 25, 2025, he scored his first SHL goal in his fifth game. In total, he recorded 15 points—six goals and nine assists—in 42 SHL games.

International career

Viggo Bjorck has represented Sweden at the U17, U18, and U20 levels. In 2024, at just 16 years old, he was selected for Sweden’s U18 team at the U18 World Championship. During the tournament, he recorded four goals and four assists in seven games, helping Sweden secure a silver medal. In the 2026 World Junior Championship, where Sweden won gold, Bjorck contributed with three goals and six assists in seven games, including an assist on the game-winning goal.
