Last night, the Ottawa Senators defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 7–1. The game wasn’t the most exciting, since the result was so one-sided. Still, fans had a great time—especially because of what Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot did in the first period.
The Ottawa Senators are not having a great season, to say the least. They currently sit 25th in the NHL and have won only two of their last six games.

Survived a 3-on-5
With that in mind, Sunday’s win against the Vegas Golden Knights was a surprise—especially since the Knights are one of the top teams in the league and are expected to make a deep playoff run.
At the end of the first period, the Senators survived a 3-on-5 situation. During a box play, Ottawa was called for too many players on the ice. But Thomas Chabot did everything he could to avoid the penalty.

After realizing the mistake, Chabot dramatically dove into the Senators’ bench—an action that fans have found hilarious online.
“This’ll be a good ‘funny moments’ clip,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
“Is this a hockey game or a comedy?” another commented.
“Can’t stop giggling at this,” a third added.
