Nikita Kucherov scored the overtime winner for the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday afternoon. But it was his celebration that had everybody talking afterward.
On Saturday, Nikita Kucherov became an honored member of the 1,000-point club with two assists in the Lightning’s win over the Anaheim Ducks. And on Sunday, Kucherov capped off what can only be described as a really good weekend when he scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Golden Knights.

At first, however, it looked like Kucherov had scored the 2–1 goal in the third period. With 6:40 remaining, Kucherov found the back of the net, but the goal was called back after the Golden Knights challenged it and an offside was detected.
But just 32 seconds into overtime, Kucherov scored a good goal and celebrated by chirping the referees and the Golden Knights alongside Brandon Hagel. The two formed their gloves into “phones,” signaling that this one actually counted.
Fans can’t stop laughing
Fans are loving it.
“The Kuch/Hagel situation room/good goal phone call celly is so funny,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
“Kuch is hilarious,” another fan wrote.
“Love to see these two dialed in like that,” added a third.
Next up for the Lightning is a trip to Nashville to face the Predators on Tuesday.
