Florida Panthers takes jab at Oilers in locker room celebration

The Florida Panthers claimed their second consecutive Stanley Cup last night, defeating the Edmonton Oilers once again, this time with a decisive 5–1 victory. After last year’s win, the Panthers are no strangers to celebration — and in the locker room after the game, they took a playful jab at their final opponent, the Edmonton Oilers.

This year’s Stanley Cup Final lacked the drama of last year’s series, when the Oilers pushed it to a Game 7 by winning three straight games. In last night’s game, the Florida Panthers scored three unanswered goals in the first two periods and ultimately cruised to a comfortable 5–1 win, with Sam Reinhart netting an impressive four goals.

Florida Panthers playoff injuries

However, the victory didn’t come without a cost. Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice revealed after the game that several key players had been battling significant injuries throughout the playoffs. Captain Aleksander Barkov split his palm open in Game 1 and tore out his stitches twice before doctors sealed the wound with glue. Sam Reinhart played with a Grade 2 MCL tear sustained during the Panthers’ series against Carolina. Meanwhile, Matthew Tkachuk battled through both a torn adductor and a hernia — on the same side of his body.

Took jab at Edmonton Oilers

Despite the injuries, the Florida Panthers celebrated in style — and couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at their opponents in the process.
In a now-viral video, the team can be seen celebrating wildly in the locker room, spraying champagne and beer while dancing to Pink Pony Club by singer Chappell Roan — a song famously associated with the Oilers as their victory anthem. Fans online found the move hilarious.
“This is the ultimate rub-it-in-your-face moment,” one fan wrote on X.
“You just know the boys can hear this in the other room lol,” another added.
“Ultimate trolls,” said a third.
