Lauren Kyle McDavid took a hilarious dig at Brad Marchand with an Instagram post earlier in the Stanley Cup Final—and she didn’t slow down in Game 4. Connor McDavid’s wife wore a custom-made shirt as the Oilers tied the series 2-2, and fans couldn’t stop laughing.
The Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers has had it all. And most notably, Brad Marchand has been at the center of… well, everything. The trade deadline acquisition for the Panthers has scored goals, picked up assists, and—as always—brought toughness, grit, and just the right amount of chaos. Marchand is one of the most intense and irritating players in the league, and he’s fully embraced that role this postseason, getting under the skin of every opponent.
It even reached the point where Lauren Kyle McDavid posted a not-so-subtle Instagram story during Game 3—clearly aimed at Marchand. She shared a screenshot about Alberta’s “Rat Control Program,” which has helped keep the province essentially rat-free. Marchand, of course, is widely known as the NHL’s biggest “rat,” and the Panthers’ post-win celebrations often involve players shooting fake rats at him.
Lauren Kyle McDavid’s hilarious shirt
Even though the Oilers lost Game 3, 6-1, Lauren Kyle McDavid wasn’t done. During Game 4, she took another jab—this time sporting a custom T-shirt that read “Rat Patrol” on the back. A photo of her wearing the shirt was posted to her Instagram story and later shared on the Edmonton Oilers Reddit page Thursday night. The story also tagged the Alberta Invasive Species Council, a non-profit that raises awareness about invasive pests.
Unsurprisingly, Oilers fans absolutely loved the captain’s wife’s bold fashion statement.
“I haven’t been sold on her. I was wrong. My Queen,” one fan wrote on social media.
“Her consistent support is awesome. Especially since it’s dressed in pettiness. I love it lol,” another added.
“I honestly love it lmfao,” a third said.
