Anyone who has ever played hockey—or any sport, really—knows that emotions can sometimes get the better of you. But physically abusing an official is something you simply never do. Now, a video from a Canadian youth league is going viral among hockey fans, and they’re all saying the same thing.
Every hockey lover knows it’s a physical sport, and heavy hits are a big part of the game. In fact, it’s one of the reasons the sport has become so popular. But every player still needs to control their emotions and avoid crossing the line from physical to violent behavior.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happens in the video below. A visibly angry player is seen heading to the penalty box, arguing with the officials—something you see in almost every game. But then the player suddenly attacks three of the officials, who are forced to physically restrain him to calm him down.
Hockey fans are furious
Now, hockey fans are calling for a long suspension—or even a lifetime ban—for the out-of-control youngster.
“Hopefully whatever league this is banned the player or heavily suspended him,” one person wrote on Reddit.
“Any swing at a ref should result in immediate suspension from the league,” another person added.
“Lifetime ban is the only way to stop this behavior. That and assault charges,” a third commenter said.
“Easy solution: the player is banned forever from the league and pays a huge fine,” a fourth person wrote.
