Mitch Marner caught on camera absolutely losing it on the bench

The Toronto Maple Leafs suffered yet another devastating Game 7 on Sunday, losing to the Florida Panthers and getting eliminated from this year’s playoffs. Mitch Marner was visibly furious during the game, and his behavior on the bench was caught on camera—a sequence that quickly went viral.

The Maple Leafs have a long history of underperforming in the playoffs, especially in high-stakes games. Their Game 7 record is notoriously poor, and Sunday’s second-round decider against the Panthers was no exception.

Despite being thoroughly outplayed in the first period, the game remained tied 0-0 heading into the second. But then, Seth Jones, Anton Lundell, and Jonah Gadjovich scored three unanswered goals in just over six minutes, giving Florida a 3-0 lead.

Mitch Marner’s outburst

The quick strikes sucked the life out of the Scotiabank Arena crowd—but had the opposite effect on star forward Mitch Marner. He’s been under fire for his performance throughout the series, having recorded just five points in seven games. On Sunday, cameras caught him unleashing a string of profanities and screaming at his teammates.
“Wake the f—k up,” Marner shouted, among other things.

His outburst didn’t help. The Panthers cruised to a 6-1 win, and on social media, fans were merciless—slamming both Marner’s behavior and his on-ice performance.
“-1 with 0 SOG. Hopefully he’s yelling and spitting into a mirror,” one fan posted.
“Man, if only he was paid to do something about it,” another wrote.
“Bro hasn’t done shit all series long—what’s buddy complaining for?” a third added.
