The NHL studio is home to experts who guide viewers through the games with brilliant analysis and insight. But it’s also the setting for some truly funny TV moments. Last night, Paul Bissonnette and Pat Maroon exchanged jabs live in the studio…
Pat Maroon recently hung up his skates after 848 games, three Stanley Cups, and 1,087 penalty minutes. Last night, he joined the NHL studio as a guest to share his expert takes on the games. But he also felt the heat from Paul Bissonnette.
Paul Bissonnette chirps Pat Maroon
Paul Bissonnette, also a former NHLer—though with fewer games and no Cup rings—has built a career as a funny guy, hosting the popular Spittin’ Chiclets podcast and working as a TV personality. He welcomed Pat Maroon with a jab about his hair.
Burst out in laughter
After welcoming Maroon to the studio, the two discussed how hard it is to get in touch with Bissonnette, who rarely answers his phone.
“It’s like trying to get hold of the President—you never know,” Maroon joked.
“I was in the fartsack, trying to get some sleep before the broadcast,” Bissonnette fired back. “We blew the budget because we had to get hair gel for him, so we’re not getting paid this month, boys. We’re working pro bono.”
The studio erupted in laughter. You can watch the full clip below.
