Maddox Schultz is one of the most talked-about young talents in hockey today. Born in 2010, the forward is not draft eligible until 2028, but he is already on many scouts’ radars and is expected to be drafted first overall. He is also expected to be drafted first overall in the 2025 WHL bantam draft. But who is he? Here’s everything you need to know about Maddox Schultz.

Maddox Schultz early life

Schultz was born on March 15, 2010, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Both of his parents, Vicki and David, are figure skating coaches and thus, they trained Maddox to be a figure skater. But at age eight, he switched to hockey and immediately showed talent.

Maddox Schultz playing career

In 2022-2023, Schultz tallied 63 points (23 + 40) in 28 games with the Regina Pat Blues U15. In the following season, he was granted with exceptional status as a 14-year-old to play in U18 AAA, after scoring 134 points (63 + 71) in 27 games with the Regina Pat Blues U15. The Blues also won the championship that year.
In 2024-2025, Maddox Schultz played 44 games with the Regina Pat Canadians U18, scoring 43 goals and 50 assists. Schultz was voted Rookie of the year and also won the championship for the Canadians.

Personal Life

Maddox Schultz parents are Vicki and David, both elite-level figure skating coaches. He also has a younger sister, Sydney. Both of them spent most of their childhood at the rink, honing their skating skills.
Maddox and little sister Sydney have spent their whole lives at the rink.

Maddox Schultz stands 5’10″ (178 cm) tall and weighs 165 lbs (75 kg).
