Paul Bissonnette chirps Brad Marchand ahead of round 2

Round one of the Stanley Cup playoffs is coming to a close, with six of eight teams already securing their spots in round two. In the Eastern Conference, there will be a matchup between Atlantic Division rivals after both the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs advanced last night. Following the Maple Leafs’ win over the Ottawa Senators, TV analyst Paul Bissonnette had a message for Panthers forward Brad Marchand.

The Florida Panthers defeated their in-state rivals, the Tampa Bay Lightning, in six games, securing a place in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Toronto Maple Leafs did the same, winning game six in Ottawa after dropping two consecutive games. Leafs fans had grown increasingly nervous, fearing their team would blow a 3–0 lead in the series. Naturally, the win brought relief — and one fan in particular was already looking ahead to round two against the Panthers.

The Brad Marchand trade

Many hockey fans were surprised when the Panthers traded for Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand. But the move has proven to be a success, with Marchand making solid contributions since arriving in Florida. His gritty playing style fits well with the Panthers’ physical approach to the game, led by hard-hitting forward Matthew Tkachuk — something TV personality and Maple Leafs fan Paul Bissonnette is especially excited about.

Paul Bissonnette chirps Marchand

After the Leafs’ victory over the Senators, Bissonnette posted a video on his X (formerly Twitter) account. In the 80-second clip, he delivers a series of jabs — but one chirp, in particular, is aimed squarely at Brad Marchand.
“Brad Marchand. My arch f*cking nemesis. I’m gonna take you down once and for all. You hear me, Brad? You’re going down, buddy. Put the war paint on!” Bissonnette says in the hilarious clip.
Fans are now laughing — and eagerly waiting to see if Marchand responds. You can watch the clip below.
