What Connor Bedard did during family vacation to Hawaii has the hockey world laughing, it proves he’s the real deal

Fans of the NHL are eagerly waiting for Connor Bedard’s arrival to the NHL. Bedard is a generational talent, dubbed as the biggest talent since Connor McDavid, and he’s broken all kinds of records in the WHL, where he’s played with the Regina Pats.

Bedard is undoubtedly the No. 1 pick in the Entry Draft this summer, and the Chicago Blackhawks will have the selection after winning the lottery earlier this week.

Bedard can do it all, and his skillset on the ice is special for someone his age. And it doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

Connor just loves hockey, and this brand new story from Spittin’ Chiclets’ Ryan Whitney confirms just how much he really commits to the sport.

One time, Bedard was forced to go on a family vacation to Hawaii, a place not really known for its great hockey venues. But Bedard didn’t care.

”It was hockey every day, it was his entire life,” Whitney said in the podcast.

”It’s stuff you can’t teach kids. You could never have a kid do this. It’s the drive. So focused. Just so into it, all day, all night, you’re thinking about it.”

”They went to Hawaii, and he’s like, ’No, I don’t want to go.’ But then he goes, ’I got to bring all my stuff.’ And so he brings his rollerblades, his gloves, and his stick, and like, I guess he landed in Hawaii, and the people are like, ’We’ve never seen anyone show up to Hawaii with a hockey stick and rollerblades.’

”He just skated every day. So the passion is there.”
