The Hanson Brothers are the bespectacled, brawling trio from Slap Shot whose arrival turns the Charlestown Chiefs into a winning team. They were played by Steve Carlson, Jeff Carlson and Dave Hanson, and modelled on the three real Carlson brothers of the Johnstown Jets. Jack Carlson missed the film because he was called up to the WHA, so Dave Hanson took the part and the character kept the Hanson name.
