Seth Jarvis and his Carolina Hurricanes are looking to take a 3-1 series lead against the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Final. But that doesn’t stop certified funny man Seth Jarvis from joking around. At a press conference, he took a hilarious jab at team captain Jordan Staal, calling him old.
Jordan Staal was selected second overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2006 NHL Draft. In 2009, he won a Stanley Cup with the Penguins.

First Stanley Cup Final since 2006
But in 2012, Staal was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, where he has grown into a franchise legend and served as team captain for eight of the past nine seasons. Right now, he is on his way to leading the Hurricanes to their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Final since 2006, when they won their first and only Cup so far.
Seth Jarvis chirp Jordan Staal
But being a team captain doesn’t always mean you are immune to chirps from teammates much younger than yourself. Certified funny man Seth Jarvis, who is fourteen years younger than Jordan Staal, took a shot at his captain during a press conference.
“He’s the best. To have a guy like that in the room, who’s I guess that old… I don’t know how to put it nicely. Experienced would probably be a better term. Someone that our team can really lean on. I mean, he plays in all situations. In all the big moments, he’s out there. A real calming presence for us,” Jarvis joked at the press conference.
Game 4 will be played on Wednesday in Montreal.
