The Florida Panthers are just two wins away from their first-ever Stanley Cup.
The Panthers made it to the Final last year and have continued building momentum this season.
They have perhaps the best goalie in the league and no real weaknesses across the ice, and they currently have a 2-0 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers, as the series now shifts to Edmonton for two straight games.
Oilers haven’t won a Stanley Cup since 1990, and they have a mountain to climb if they want to end that drought this year.
And if that wasn’t enough, Oilers fans have another reason to be irate over a decision by their biggest player in history’s daughter.
Paulina Gretzky has been watching the Panthers live during this postseason, and what she has been wearing has had some Oilers fans furious.
During this playoffs, Paulina, who has over one million followers on Instagram, shared several photos wearing a Florida Panthers jersey.
This has been noticed by several big hockey accounts, leading to some social media reactions.
”Wayne can’t be too happy about this now that they’re playing his Oilers,” with close to 200,000 followers on X, said.
One site, the supporter site allhabs.com, is saying that Paulina wearing Panthers jerseys is a ’slap in the face of her father,’ and many on social media have expressed the same opinion.
Paulina has, in previous years, been at several Oilers games with his dad, donning Edmonton jerseys.
