Paul Bissonnette makes shock claim that Craig Berube will be Toronto’s new head coach live on air

The Toronto Maple Leafs had yet another disappointing postseason, and now, Sheldon Keefe’s days as head coach may soon come to an end.

They made a comeback attempt against the Boston Bruins, coming back from 3-1 to 3-3 in the first-round series, but fell short in Game 7, eventually losing after a David Pastrnak goal.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have failed to make a real push for the Stanley Cup with Sheldon Keefe on the bench, and many feel something needs to happen.

Things will probably happen with the ’core four,’ Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Mitch Marner, and John Tavares, but with how things panned out in the playoffs, it’s probable something will happen with management as well.

When the Leafs made a sudden and unexpected change to their end of season availability, it only spurred rumors on even more.

And on Sunday, Paul Bissonnette might just have leaked the next head coach of the Leafs live on TNT.

Bissonnette just dropped the bomb in a throwaway comment meant for Craig Berube, who was on the panel during Sunday’s broadcast.

During the intermission of Game 7 between the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars, Berube had something to say to BizNasty, and he didn’t like it.

To get Berube to back off, Bissonnette claimed that Berube was going to be the next head coach of the Maple Leafs.

”Chief, that’s enough buddy – I’m gonna break the news that you’re the new Leafs head coach,” said Bissonnette in response to Berube’s chirping.

Craig Berube was the head coach of the St. Louis Blues from 2018 to Dec. 2023, when he was fired. He led the organization to its first-ever Stanley Cup, and after Paul Bissonnette’s remark on TNT, fans started analyzing his reaction over and over again. Just see some of the tweets down here:
