MSG Network still has Rangers games, and if you watch on cable nothing changes. If you stream, something does: the Gotham Sports App is being shut down and replaced by DAZN as the exclusive in-market streaming home, at some point during this season. No date and no pricing have been announced.
How do I watch the Rangers?
MSG Network, through Optimum, Spectrum, DIRECTV, DIRECTV Stream, Verizon Fios, Fubo and Astound. Two long-running gaps still apply: MSG is not carried on Comcast Xfinity, dark since 2021, or on DISH, dark since 2010. There is no over-the-air option.
What is happening with the streaming app?
MSG Networks and YES Network announced on 29 July 2026 that DAZN will become the exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home for both, and that the Gotham Sports App will close. The switch happens during this NHL and NBA season. Existing subscribers keep access through the transition and will be migrated across; cable subscribers will authenticate through DAZN at no extra charge. The date, the pricing and how account migration works have not been announced.
What does it cost today?
Through Gotham, while it lasts: MSG+ is $29.99 a month or $279.99 a year, a single-game pass is $9.99, and the combined MSG and YES plan is $34.99 a month or $299.99 a year — cut from $41.99 and $359.99 in February. What DAZN will charge is unknown.
Where are Rangers games blacked out?
MSG’s territory covers the New York market and surrounding zones: New York State including upstate, New Jersey, Connecticut and into north-eastern Pennsylvania. MSG runs zoned feeds, and the exact county-level Rangers territory is not published.
Who calls the games?
Kenny Albert on play-by-play with Dave Maloney on colour — the pairing that replaced Sam Rosen and Joe Micheletti after both retired at the end of 2024-25. John Giannone has been the long-standing rinkside reporter. On radio, Alex Faust calls the games; note that the club’s long-time flagship, 98.7 ESPN New York, changed format in 2024, so check the current station before publishing a call sign.
When do the Rangers play?
Tuesday 29 September, away to Boston, at 8pm on ESPN — the opening night game. They are on national television 18 times.
