The first period saw back-and-forth goals, as both teams lit up the lamp. Boston took a 3-2 lead heading into the second period.
In the second, Toronto battled back to re-take the lead, heading into the third and final period up 4-3.
In the third, Boston jumped on the offense early, tying the game at 4 apiece. Then, Jake DeBrusk gave the hometown Bruins the lead and Boston went on to capture game 7 by a score of 7-4. David Pastrnak was the final nail in the coffin for the Leafs. Brad Marchand added a little salt in the wound, scoring an empty net goal.
Boston now takes on Tampa Bay in the second round of the NHL Playoffs.
