Anthony Stolarz has NHL fans in stitches after interview

The Toronto Maple Leafs managed to close out their series against the Ottawa Senators with a 4–2 win in Ottawa. But it wasn’t an easy victory, as the Senators put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short against the more experienced Leafs team. During a postgame interview, Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz was asked about a goal by David Perron that he conceded in the third period. His response has NHL fans in stitches.

The Battle of Ontario got a little too close for comfort for many Toronto Maple Leafs fans. After taking a 3–0 lead in the series, the Leafs allowed the Senators to claw back to 3–2 before finally sealing the series on Thursday with a 4–2 win. However, the Senators pushed hard and tied the game with less than ten minutes to go, thanks to a goal by David Perron.

Strange goal

The goal looked a bit odd, with Perron scoring from behind the goal line off the back of Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz. Afterwards, Stolarz delivered a hilarious response to reporters. Following the victory and the Leafs’ advancement to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, reporters asked Stolarz about the unusual goal he let in.

Anthony Stolarz hilarious response

He replied in the funniest way:
“It goes in, it happens. It’s one of those things—I got a little horny on the pokecheck. You live and you learn; it’s the life of a goaltender,” Stolarz told reporters.
In the second round, the Maple Leafs will face the Florida Panthers, who also advanced last night by defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games. You can watch the hilarious interview below.
